- You are welcome to sit in, especially at the start, and a parent should be reachable while a session runs.
- Practice between sessions is set on MathedUp, which stays free for your child whether or not you ever tutor with me.
- Places are very limited. I keep the list small on purpose.

Your child sits a structured diagnostic matched to their course, board, tier and school term, so the first session starts from where the gaps actually are rather than where we would have guessed.

The programme
The diagnostic meets the exam data: topics ranked by the marks available, how often they are examined, and how strongly they separate one grade from the next. That ranking is the plan, and the highest-impact gap is taught first.

Teach, practise, re-test
Weekly 1-to-1 sessions, with follow-up practice set on MathedUp that marks itself. Progress is re-assessed every few weeks and the plan changes when the diagnostic does. You see all of it.
Why a diagnostic first
Most tutoring works through a textbook, or through whatever homework arrived that week. It feels productive, and it spends the hours you are paying for on whatever happened to come up.
What the marking is for
A diagnostic is not a test your child passes or fails. It is a way of finding out which specific thing is broken, so the next hour is spent on that thing rather than on the topic that happened to be next in the book.
Then the finding meets the exam data. I have analysed 246 real GCSE papers question by question: which topics carry the most marks, how often each one is asked, and which ones most strongly separate one grade from the next. That ranking decides the order, so the gap that is worth the most marks is taught first.
Between sessions the practice is set on MathedUp and marks itself, so you can see a topic move from red to green without either of us marking a book. The platform stays free for every student, forever. Tutoring adds the teacher, the plan and the accountability on top of it.
What the data does not do: it does not know your child. It orders the plan. The diagnostic is what puts your child's own gaps into it, and it is re-run every few weeks because the answer changes.

So the plan starts here: double brackets, then the quadratics that sit on top of them, because every one of those questions fails the same way until this does not.
That is the whole method on one sheet. Find the habit, name it, teach it, then re-test it once it has had a week to settle.
